ENSURE HEALTHY LIVES AND PROMOTE WELL-BEING FOR ALL AT ALL AGES

Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all is essential to sustainable development. Access to good health and well-being is a human right. Danish consulting engineers contributes to good health and well-being in numerous ways – directly as well as indirectly. For instance, we work with and assist local governments with capacity building to ensure that relevant policies and guidelines are in place to mitigate the impact of infrastructural development upon human beings and health. We prevent and reduces deadly diseases and epidemics from spreading when assisting governments and local authorities to implement water and sanitation programmes. Finally, we assist relevant authorities with the implementation of international treaties and conventions, which relate to health and well-being.


PROJECT: HYGIENE AND SANITATION – THE DANISH AND SWEDISH SUPPORT PROGRAMME TO MALI

Despite determined global progress, sub-Saharan Africa and Southern Asia see an increasing proportion of child deaths. Four out of every ve deaths of children under age ve occur in these regions. Ramboll, in partnership with Danida, has provided technical assistance to national and regional institutions in Mali with regard to the provision of improvements in the quality of potable water, sanitation and hygiene. The tasks carried out by Ramboll cover a wide spectrum of activities, all contributing to the overall objective of much improved sanitation and hygiene thus ensuring improvements in the overall well-being and health of those living in the specific regions.
